This 4-day instructor-led course is designed to teach systems administrators, developers, or IT architects how to optimize the use of the AWS Cloud. You’ll understand the best practices for design, deployment, networking, load balancing and more. Mike Pfeiffer will identify some effective AWS Cloud design patterns and teach you how a service may fit in the overall cloud design. The course also covers System Operations – you’ll learn how to create automatable and repeatable deployments of networks and systems on the AWS platform including tools related to configuration and deployment. Additionally you’ll learn common techniques used throughout the industry for configuring and deploying systems.

Later, he joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) where he worked as a solutions architect, spending most of his time speaking at live events, writing code to build fully automated solutions, and helping customers and partners architect solutions in the cloud.
Target Audience
This course is intended for IT professionals who are new to Amazon Web Services, including those working in systems architecture, systems operations, application development, or DevOps roles. This course can be used to gain an understanding of the core services used for running workloads on the AWS cloud. In addition, this course prepares students for both the AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate exams. Note: it is recommend that students have experience with general networking concepts and systems administration or software development. Familiarity with either the Windows or Linux operating systems is also recommended.

Michael Pfeiffer is an accomplished IT architect, consultant, writer and conference speaker with 20 years of experience in the tech industry. After spending many years as an enterprise consultant and technical trainer, Mike went to work for Microsoft helping some of their biggest customers move to the cloud. Later he joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) where he worked as a solutions architect, spending most of his time speaking at live events, writing code to build fully automated solutions and helping customers and partners architect solutions in the cloud.
These days Mike runs his own consulting business that specializes in cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS. When he’s not teaching a class, Mike spends his time in the field working with customers as they migrate applications, implement new services and develop applications in the cloud. His vast experience with infrastructure and application development brings a unique mix of skills to both his consulting projects and training classes. Prior to working for Microsoft, Mike was a multi-year recipient of the prestigious Microsoft MVP award. He was also part of a select group of individuals who earned the Microsoft Certified Master certification. Today he holds several other certifications from Microsoft and AWS. Mike is a published author and has written a number of books on shell scripting and automation. He regularly develops training courseware, publishes video training and contributes to several industry websites that cover cloud computing technologies.
